hdsht_cat Blooming with fullness and giving a modern understanding of melody to a chiptune-esque sound. With a full LP length and a kickass cover art, LASERBAT has established his own style wonderfully. Nothing sounds incohesive, and the album shares familiar cues. Great for any fan of videogames, old and young.

From Moonlight's rolling beat and uplifting progressions, to Attack Spark's almost nostalgic synths, there's a song for anyone who enjoys a little FM plugin. Favorite track: Moonlight.

about

FREQUENCY MODULATOR//

A collection of tracks that are inspired by SEGA Genesis music, using primarily Chipsounds MD and some FM Drive to make. I opted not to adhere to any sort of system limitations as that wasn't the goal with this album. I've wanted to do a project like this one for a very long time as anyone who knows me knows that I really like the FM sound.

When starting this album, I initially started with seeing how I could convert the main theme to a project I've been tinkering with into FM and it turned into the track Attack Spark. Pleased with how it sounded I had the idea to do the same thing to other tracks of mine and it began to rapidly snowball. I delved deep into my archives from 2012 and upward to pick out some tracks that I have always liked to convert to FM and give them re-arrangements! Sunset and StarPower you can actually find the original versions on my very first release here, Astris of the Stars!

Some tracks that had potential that I didn't know what to do with at the time have gotten polished off and finally finished after many years, as well as there are brand new ones from earlier in 2020 as well as new ones made entirely for this album. All in all this is a celebration of my music over the years, some that I never did properly release, but in a brand new way.

It has been a labour of love to make this and I hope everyone enjoys it!
